KC Pet Project is bringing Patio Party back to its main campus in Swope Park for a second year, turning the shelter into a live music benefit night for Kansas City pets.
The event is set for Friday, May 22, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at KC Pet Project at Swope Park, located at 7077 Elmwood Avenue.
This year’s concert lineup is led by Post Sex Nachos, with performances also planned from Big Fat Cow and Jillian Riscoe. Ticket price starts at $50.
The setup gives the event a strong local hook. It is not just another outdoor concert.
It is a benefit concert tied directly to one of Kansas City’s best known animal welfare organizations, with ticket sales helping support shelter care, adoptions, pet support services and other work connected to the pets and people served by KC Pet Project.
That mission matters because KC Pet Project handles a massive local need each year. The organization serves more than 16,000 pets annually, which gives Patio Party a bigger purpose than a regular Friday night music event.
Every ticket sold helps support the shelter’s year round work, from caring for animals inside the shelter to helping families keep pets safe and supported.

A benefit concert with a Kansas City lineup
Post Sex Nachos gives this year’s event a stronger music draw. The band has built a following around high energy shows, catchy hooks and a sound that moves across genres.
Adding Big Fat Cow and Jillian Riscoe also keeps the lineup rooted in local and regional music, which fits the event’s community feel.
The event will also include local drinks and a beer garden with brewery and distillery partners, giving it more of a festival atmosphere than a standard fundraiser.
For people who want to support animal welfare but prefer a casual night out over a formal gala, Patio Party fills that gap.
The location helps too. Holding the event at the shelter in Swope Park keeps the purpose visible.
Guests are not just attending a concert somewhere across town. They are showing up at the same campus where KC Pet Project carries out its daily shelter work.
For Kansas City animal lovers, that makes the event easy to understand. Buy a ticket, hear live music, spend an evening outside, and help support the pets moving through the shelter system.
It is simple, local and tied to a cause many residents already care about.
Patio Party returns at a good time on the city calendar. Late May is when outdoor events start picking up across Kansas City, and this one gives residents a feel good option before the full summer rush begins.
With Post Sex Nachos headlining and the event tied to shelter support, KC Pet Project has a strong draw for both music fans and pet owners.
For anyone looking for a Kansas City event that mixes live music with a clear local mission, Patio Party on May 22 is one to watch.
